The Power of Togetherness – From October 4th 2021

Morning team!

A very Happy Monday to you all and I hope you had a lovely relaxing weekend.

What I LEARNED

It seems obvious but last week reminded me of how much I love, and have missed, being with people in person.

I was lucky to go into the office twice last week, and on both occasions being able to sit down and talk though ideas, plans, reports in the same room as someone makes such a big difference. It wasn’t just in the work context I smiled at the power of human connections.

Yesterday my neighbor completed the virtual London marathon, and another neighbor ran with him to give him moral support. I’ve never completed a marathon, but can only imagine the mental and physical strength you need to get through it, and for someone else to give up their time to support and run alongside a neighbor in need reminded me once more about the power of connections and relationships.

I know I talk a lot of teamwork and togetherness, but I don’t think you can underestimate its importance, and as we ease out for lockdown restrictions, I cannot wait for the day we are all in the same room (pub) at the same time to be together. Let’s hope it’s this Christmas!…….watch this space.

What I LIKED

My wife told me that she had heard about a top Premier League footballer, who has a cracked iPhone, and when asked why he doesn’t change the screen, he replied ‘why would I need to do that when it works perfectly well, and I could be putting money towards great things such as child poverty. The player is Sadio Mane and you can read more about his mindset towards wealth here:
