A Chance to Recalibrate – From December 19th 2022

Morning Team.

Every week I send the sales end of week email, and on the subject line I always put the week number. It only feel like last week I was sending him Week 1 Sales end of week summary, yet here we are in Week 51, the week before Christmas!

It’s amazing how quickly time flies. Maybe because we are all having so much fun.

This is the last MMM email from me for 2022, so thank you for all your kind messages each week. It’s amazing how the different MMM emails I send out, touch people in different ways. It’s the feedback you send back that keeps me doing these emails as a means to connect on a human level about the things that are most important to us.

So on that note, I’ll thank you all, wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and look forward to an amazing 2023!

What I LEARNED

What I learned over the last month, is that I need to recalibrate my home / work life balance now that we have come out lockdown and are in this period of weird transition.

A wise man once told me about his 3 circles to life – Family / Work / Personal. Recently I’m ashamed to say I’ve neglected my family circle somewhat, as I’ve focused too much on work and personal activities, enjoying the fruits of all the Christmas activities now we have the opportunity to celebrate face to face.  Fortunately, those closest to me made me aware of this, and I had the opportunity to take a good look at myself in the mirror and how I was managing my time and start to readjust.

It can be a fine balance trying ensure we all keep the equilibrium in our lives, and is one I’m constantly trying to learn how to manage and improve.

As we approach this Christmas season, I hope that you all get the chance to spend some quality time with your loved ones, and decrease your work circle time. We invest so much into work day to day that now is the time to repay those around you with your presence, and remember what life is all about.

Christmas is also a season of traditions. When my children were born, I decided to create a new family tradition. So every Christmas Eve, no matter what the weather, I stick on the apron, grab my tongs, and fire up the BBQ for a Christmas Eve BBQ dressed in festive attire. It’s now become something we all look forward to, and I can’t wait to get stuck into it this Saturday.

If anyone else has any festive traditions that they are willing to share with me, then let me know as I’d love to hear about them.

What I LIKED

As some of you may know, I’m quite partial to the odd dance now and again. Watching the Strictly final with my family on Saturday, I was in awe of the talent on display, and decided I must try harder! (LOL). What I liked is that the winner (I wont tell you whom, in case you don’t know), highlighted some advice that really resonated that I wanted to share:

1.      Surround yourself with people whose eyes light up when they see you coming

2.     The top of one mountain, is the bottom of the next, so keep climbing.

3.     Slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be.

Final thought

Feedback is a gift, and I’m always trying to improve or understand what’s working and what’s not. Please leave any constructive feedback that you feel can help me improve or continue with what’s working.

Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a successful and fulfilling day.
