Morning Team.
I hope you all had a nice weekend and didn’t get too wet.
Here is what was going on in my world (and head), from last week:
What I LEARNED
As yesterday was remembrance Sunday, and I unfortunately have a family funeral to attend this week, I didn’t want to start the week in a dark place, but when I reflect about loss, it personally reminds me of how precious the here and now is. There is quote I was told once that I tend to think about a lot, especially when I’m with my family. Both embracing the present, along with being present (without distractions) for those around you are really important, yet so easy to forget sometimes in our busy lives.
The other important thing I’ve come to learn when it comes to loss and remembrance, is the importance of opening up and to talk to someone about how you are feeling and not keep it all inside bottled up. Hopefully you all have someone you can turn to in order to have this kind of discussion, but if you don’t and you would like to talk to someone, then let me know so I can try to support you, either myself or by finding someone that can.
Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a gift. That’s why it’s called the present.
What I LIKED
An interesting podcast I listened to last week was with the Newcastle United Football Manager, Eddie Howe. This is a story about a Premiership Football club who was struggling and staring at relegation, before Eddie Howe joined them last season, and not only enabled them to survive, but they are now thriving.
It’s an interesting story about culture and values within teams, however I personally found it tinged with slight sadness as the commitment he gives to work is determinant to his home / family life (being present), highlighting the need to have balance in your life and making sure you allocate your time accordingly:
Final thought

Feedback is a gift, and I’m always trying to improve or understand what’s working and what’s not. Please leave any constructive feedback that you feel can help me improve or continue with what’s working.
Thank you for reading and I hope that you have a successful and fulfilling day.
