Morning team!
A very Happy Monday to you all and I hope you had a lovely relaxing weekend.
What I LEARNED
Some of you may know that I help coach my sons u11 football team. The reason I put my hand up to help with the coaching, is it not only allows me to spend more time with my son away from work, in a passion he enjoys, but it also is so fulfilling knowing that I can help play a part in these young boys development, not just as athletes, but as humans. A lot of what I talk about with the boys center’s around the 3 H’s we have in our own culture, and will hopefully be something each of the boys takes with them as they carry on through their professional and sporting lives. As you know I have a thirst for learning and development, so rather than just act as a support within the team, I put my hand up to take the English F.A Level 1 coaching badge. This means I now have the qualifications to be a first team coach if I wanted (which I don’t right now), but through being on the course it made me realise the importance of having fun. For all the anxiety, and frustrations of football, and sport, it’s easy to forget that at the end of the day its important to enjoy what you do and have fun. As I was participating in the lectures it reminded me of our team, and how we all embody the notion of Hard work, Harmony and Humility every single day, but how we also try to have fun at the same time.
What I LIKED
Last week I found out that the late Robin Williams, the actor, made sure that in every movie he filmed, he asked the production crew to hire at least 10 homeless people. During his entire career, he helped approximately 1520 homeless. I mentioned this to those who were able to join the Friday Social call, but wanted to share with everyone as it really highlights the strength of humility in people.
