Morning Team.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed to relax. Here’s what’s been on my mind over the past week.
What I LOVED
After being struck with COVID again last week, I couldn’t wait to get out of the house. And so with the sight of blue skies and sun on Saturday morning, I decided it was a perfect time to grab my headphones and head out for a stroll. I usually listen to a podcast when I go out for walks, but on this particular Saturday morning it felt more of a music morning to get lost in my own thoughts.
Whilst I was mindlessly walking along lost in my own thoughts, the playlist suddenly changed, and all of a sudden an acoustic version of a Taylor Swift song came on and without realising it, a huge smile spread across my face as I started humming the words. Now, I don’t really label myself as a ‘Swifty’, but on this particular occasion it felt like the perfect song to listen to, so much so that I ended up going to Song radio and listening to a whole Taylor Swift Acoustic Playlist. Best Saturday stroll ever! LOL. If you want to find out which Taylor Swift came on first, I’ve added it to this week’s music below. Next time you go for a walk, why not try a little Swifty to ;-).

What I LEARNED
I recently finished a book by the Social Psychologist and Wharton Business School professor Adam Grant, called Give and Take.
The book highlights how for generations, we have focused on the individual drivers of success: passion, hard work, talent, and luck. But today, success is increasingly dependent on how we interact with others – Harmony. It turns out that at work, most people can be classified as either takers, matchers, or givers. Whereas takers strive to get as much as possible from others and matchers aim to trade evenly, givers are the rare breed of people who contribute to others without expecting anything in return.
Using his own pioneering research, the author shows that these styles have a surprising impact on success. Although some givers get exploited and burn out, the rest achieve extraordinary results across a wide range of industries.

What I LIKED
I recently finished watching the Disney + series called ‘The Bear’. For those of you who have not watched it, the plot line surrounds a young highly acclaimed Chef leaving his top New York restaurant to look after his families shabby sandwich shop in Chicago. It’s quite a gritty comedy-drama, but what I liked about it was the dynamics of the team he inherits, and how they overcome an endless obstacles. I wont say any more than that, as I dont want to spoil it. If you want to find out more then check out the trailer below:
